- Students should be reading for a minimum of 15 minutes each night. I understand that life is very hectic. Remember, magazines, newspapers, and even menus count as reading material! This is also a great opportunity to listen to your child read, or even read to your child. Please fill out the Weekly Reading Log with your students and send it in the following Monday.
- I will send a homework packet home at the beginning of each week. These packets are to be completed and turned in each Friday. Remember, homework is practice of skills already learned in class. If your child struggles with a concept, please let me know as soon as possible so I can help your child in class prior to the homework due date. Homework should not be a battle, but rather a way to reinforce prior learning.
- Spelling homework will be assigned at the beginning of each new unit. Your child will have ten words to practice. They will have several days to complete the practice activities. Please help pace them so they are not left with all of the homework the night before it is due. The due date and date of assessment will always be noted on the homework assignment sheet.
